Goga Ashkenazi behind Vionnet showcased architecture versus nature Autumn-Winter collection during Paris Fashion Week. That's a cozy and abstract floral (tulip) inspired collection with breezy and flowing fabrics. Models appeared on the catwalk wearing tulip appliqués on bustier dresses, waffle-knit boiler suits, color-blocked bias-cut gowns, lime-green scarf pants, oversize and grunge-y Aran sweaters, asymmetrically draped gowns, Russian socklike winter boots (valenki style). I personally have kind of versatile feeling about this Vionnet collection, as we see tough pieces which are mixed with romantic details. We see linear shapes, fluid gowns, precise cuts and medieval references that are modernized for a practical wear. All in all, the showcased creation evoke elegance and sobriety of women's timeless wardrobe.
