The 1970’s Are Back In FLOW Fall 2015 Collection

Belgian-Ukrainian fashion brand FLOW presents its stunning Autumn 2015 season collection. The label was founded in 2014 by sisters Viktoria an Veronika Balaniuk. Despite its young age, FLOW has its identity, signature style and lots of fans. Its basic visual aesthetic includes femininity, elegance and a slight austerity of the design. Personally, I am so in love with its bright details and awesome combination of classics and modern styles.

Model appears in a grey colored pantsuit. We see a double-breasted suit-jacket and flared pants.

The 1970’s were the time of big changes in society and culture, the war in Vietnam, new wave of youth subcultures (hippies, heyday of mainstream cinema and pop-music). All these events have heavily affected this period of time. All these details can be seen in a refined modern interpretation from FLOW Winter 2015-2016 collection. The color palette includes dark green, grey, black and bright orange. Every single piece looks trendy, wearable, a bit austere, ladylike and timelessly chic. The art is another inspiration for FLOW. This year designers were inspired by 1970's cinema masterpieces like ‘Eyes of Laura Mars’ and ‘Klute’ along with works of Austrian painter Egon Schiele. A special accent of this collection is made on digital prints (graphic appliqués of juicy fruits, glaze bakery and graceful female hands) created by young Ukrainian artist Anton Yakshyn. The core garments of this Fall 2015 are flared trouser with creases, ppointed collar shirts, halter tops, loose-knit sweaters, city coats with minimalistic touches and midi skirts.
