Fringed to Fashion. The spring-summer 2013 season has proved that fringe is universal, as decorative element, that looks superb not only in Wild West style, yet on 1920's style evening dresses. Wild west touch can be seen in Saint Laurent and Ralph Lauren collections and '20's can be found in Nina Ricci, Versace and Paco Rabanne shows.
Love the eclecticism in Rodarte, Marios Schwab, Custo Barcelona and Marni's garments, as in every collection fringe symbolizes something unique and special. For instance, during Rodarte fashion show fringe looked brutal and punk: flying silk skirts, sharp shoulder jackets, leather dresses trimmed with fringe. During Marios Schwab show fringe symbolized something futuristic and alien: dresses were trimmed with semi-transparent fringe. Custo Barcelona showcased African ethnics, Marni- Eastern influence style, looks like a simple coat, but reminds me a kimono.
This tendency was taken to the streets of big cities, where people wear fringed garments and accessories in different color, look, length and material of fringe. During Fall-Winter 2013-2014 fashion weeks lots of fashionistas appeared in skirts, ankle boots, scarves, hoodies and capes accessorized with fringe.
