Belgian designer Dries Van Noten brings a retro spin in his latest Autumn-Winter collection of women's ready to wear looks. The show features practical and ladylike silhouettes with slightly roomy fit and lots of eye-catching embellishments. Van Noten named this collection ‘Coutorama,’ as it features fun and colorful looks with sharp lines and graphic motifs. Models stepped out on the catwalk wearing plain, mannish coats, feminine blouses with cut-offs at the elbow sleeves, below-the-knee skirts and many other trendy outfits that featured sparkling sequins, fur trimmings, large-scale prints and vibrant colors. The polished looks were modernized with some athletic jackets and pants with zippers.
My personal favorites from the show are man-styled coats, orange duchesse satin MA-1 jackets, flannel coats. Designer shows us his archives, reflecting his own past collections signatures, including silvery flora, psychedelic swirls, 3-D corsages, shimmering glamor rock dresses and tops. All in all, Dries Van Noten woman is opulent and she knows how to look glamor in the daytime.
