Youthful elegance is showcased in Prabal Gurung's pre-Fall 2014 collection of women's transitional garments. According to designer, his main clients are women who want “femininity with a bite.” The same story is about the pre-Autumn collection, as we see rose-printed silk gowns, beautifully cut jackets with asymmetrical lapels, strapless silk dresses with capes, printed T-shirt dresses, shawl-collar tuxedos, feathered and embroidered shirts, cocktail dresses, strapless party frocks teamed with bolero-cum-capestapered tuxedo pants, casual blue jeans. This pre-season is made to develop women's daytime wardrobe, by adding variety of colors and textures. It's still cocktail and evening collection ,but this time Gurung targets on daywear looks, as he focuses on suits and beautiful tailoring.
I am 100% agree with his statement, that this is "sportswear with couture ideals." All in all, that's a combination of elegance with edge, where modern evening attire comes with edgy and sharp dose.
