Sparkling Cabaret-era with playful twist. Marc Jacobs Spring-Summer collection, which was shown during the final day of New York Fashion Week, delivers a mix and match of 1920’s and 1960’s style. American designer showed shimmering effect of sequins and tinsel and reflective fabrics galors, like thick, shining taffetas it added a touch of the futuristic. I like the color palette, it consists of pastel, metallic and jewel toned hues. Models appeared in drop-waist chemise dresses, denim workwear, sporty sweatshirts, techno-gingham, paper-thin leather coats, cardigan jackets, in pumps with a classically elegant heel, see-through plastic cowboy boots, two-tone loafers and the boxy bags. Overall, Marc Jacobs offers a youthful boxy, drop-waist shapes of the 1920's.
