Today you gonna find out how you should wear the off-shoulder dresses trend in 2018. With a hint of the Bohemian about it, the current off-the-shoulder trend is one of the hottest looks this season and there’s no reason why everyone shouldn’t join in. The off-the-shoulder dress looks endlessly versatile and extremely popular. Modern hobo-style designs are hugely popular, especially in the mini-dress, and there are lots to choose from. At first, baring our shoulders felt like a throwback to another time, but now, it’s so trendy and seen so often that it has started to feel more modern and fresh. Off-the-shoulder dresses are flirty, cute, and really versatile, and I kind of think it’s a trend that’s going to stick around for a decent amount of time. So why not embrace it?
One of the biggest style trends to emerge from summer 2018 is, without a doubt, the off-the-shoulder dress. A pink mini-dress with elasticated neckline and long sleeves makes a very pretty summer choice, or a little-ruffled dress in soft pink or aqua also looks great. White dresses also make an appearance, such as a deceptively plain white boho dress with scooped hemline or a textured frayed fabric dress with plain borders. The lacy look is also a wonderful choice, such as a white fitted summer mini-dress with a flared skirt. For a burst of color, choose a little red ruffle dress or longer retro-style design also in red. Or to ring the changes a little, opt for a sweeping floral maxi dress or petite floral jumpsuit.
It’s not hard to wear off-the-shoulder dresses – they make a statement on their own, so they really don’t need much else. But if you want to do something more unique, or you want to show off a killer #OOTD picture on Instagram, then you might want some outfit ideas to inspire you. Bardot style dresses can easily be seen as super feminine and even a little twee, but with the right accessories and colors, they can be given more of an edge. Keep these outfits in mind for summer dressing, but with an added layer, they can also work for the fall. All you need is to find comfort and confidence in this style. What’s so amazing about this trend? The appeal is very much about the show of skin. It’s a little bit feminine, a little bit sexy. And when the summer heat IS on you can still feel cool in an off-the-shoulder number because your shoulders, neck, and back are exposed.
Which is the right Off-The-Shoulder Dress Style for you:
There is an OTS dress out there for everyone. And there are so many to choose from, across all budgets, that finding one to suit is something you could easily make a mission for the season ahead.
Petite sisters: some OTS styles are too long and have simply too much fabric for your frame but there are plenty of streamlined styles available that really work for your shape. Curvy sisters: Floaty and streamlined styles will suit. I like some skimming action in my OTS tops and dresses … because I love floaty in pretty much all that I wear. I’ve also had great success with floaty OTS dresses that have an overlay of fabric falling to the top of the waist. This helps to give the illusion of shape.
Which is the right strapless bra for your OTS. Frankly speaking, there isn’t one. Finding a strapless bra that works for YOU is not something that will necessarily happen quickly but if you’re as mad for this trend as I am, then invest the time and find one that works for you.
How can I stop an OTS from riding up ON the shoulders? In short, you can’t, but you can minimize this action. I find this is not a problem with OTS dresses. Most of the problems seem to happen with those pieces that are too tight in the elastic. If they are just right or a bit lose, then it seems to work.
