Zero + Maria Cornejo Resort Fresh and Casual Attitude

What really impressed me in the latest Zero + Maria Cornejo Resort collection then it's the fabrics and print. Cornejo mastered the art of designing dress-up clothes with a casual attitude. The resort season for Maria Cornejo is the time when her customer travels around the world, one week experiencing the desert temperatures of Dubai and other week staying in chilly fall New York. Designer transferred the pattern of wrought iron gates from the Musée de la Chasse et de la Nature in Paris, which appeared on midnight blue trousers and violet jumpsuit. Everything looks fresh: silhouettes, fabrics, colors, prints, details and lengths.

Oversized Garments In Zero + Maria Cornejo Pre-Fall

Maria Cornejo behind Zero + Maria Cornejo presents new pre-Fall collection of women's transitional garments. New pre-collection was inspired by her recent trip to Joshua Tree National Park. The colors and prints were inspired by the sands, rocks and blue sky. Cornejo is a smart and arty designer, who offers voluminous, structured and draped clothes in moss and lichen formations on rocks inspired prints. Everything looks modern, yet special and very sophisticated. I quite like the shape of outerwear, which is exaggerated and interesting. All in all, if you want to describe Maria Cornejo latest work, then it's a free-spirited wardrobe with urban-minded essentials.

Zero + Maria Cornejo Pre-Fall Roomy Cuts and Relaxed Shapes

Zero + Maria Cornejo reveals pre-Fall collection of women's transitional apparel which looks “...clean and edited down.” The next pre-season is designed with textural fabrics, so you don't have to worry about the hot and cold weather, as you can wear it from cold summer through warm fall. So, the pre-collection comes with boyish tailoring, graphic patterns and prints. I like her signature monochromatic color palette, ease silhouettes which interpret traditional Japanese aesthetic. You will find here airy Japanese cotton blouse, oversize kimono-sleeve jackets, midcalf length bustier dress, strapless, pebble-print dresses, slim-fitting, boyish pants and pocketed bustier tops. Well, the entire collection doesn't look wintry to me, as we see lightweight fabrics, roomy cuts and easy silhouettes.

Zero + Maria Cornejo Resort Essential Clothes

Zero + Maria Cornejo Resort collection was inspired by Maria's dreams about northern Africa (Egypt and Morocco), where essential clothes for urban life in Cornejo's head might be dresses, swimwear and tuxedos for evening events. This pre-spring collection is done in monotone colors, photo of trees prints and Air print motif (thanks to kinetic light installation). My favorites from this collection are Zero + Maria Cornejo own versions of travel suits, like a matching jacket and pencil skirt with a navy ribbon trim and geometric shape roomy dresses and coats.
