The latest Christopher Kane menswear Spring-Summer collection's lookbook comes with 3-D computer technology graphic images and 1970's inspired computer lines, I mean, you will find here line faces and bodies printed on t-shirts, shorts and sweatshirts. I love those retro-futuristic ensembles, that include casual colored hoodies, tees, scarfs, sweatshirts, black-and-white micro-check suits, open-toe sandals, knee-length trousers. What I like about those images is the fluorescent colors on black knits, looks modern. What concerns about collection's colors, then new season comes with red, yellow and blue, white, black.
Christopher Kane explores 1970's and 1980's computer graphic intersecting lines (which were used to create 3-D images) in his resort collection. Indeed, Kane's pre-spring season is more technological and is rich in prints, broderie and lace. Here you will see body-con black dress in blue, yelow and red stripes, cocktail dresses, jean shorts, denim jackets with diamond buttons, jeans, white cotton blouses, sleeveless shifts, transparent lace tees and other modern outfits. All in all, Christopher Kane combines unusual materials, bright patterns and great ideas.
Save the Wild Animals. The latest May's edition of Harper's Bazaar UK magazine features quite original photosession. The main roles were given to models Irina Shayk, Senait Gidey, Soo Joo and Tilda Lindstam, who appear alongside wild animals. These girls are truly brave, as they stepped in the roles of vets, who help these little tigers, monkies and little bobcat. Models sport latest trends from the likes of Giorgio Armani, Alexander Wang, Christopher Kane, Louis Vuitton, Burberry Prorsum, Dior and others.
Let's talk about trends. I think it's time to observe next autumn-winter season's trends for women. Today's trend observation is about women's top clothing with rounded shoulders. Every trend goes round and round, yet one of the strongest this season is the rounded shoulder trend, which was seen in lots runway shows.
Let me count them for you: Proenza Schouler, Victoria Beckham, Altuzarra, Donna Karan, Alexander Wang, Christopher Kane, Gucci, Mary Katrantzou all of them showcased rounded shoulder tops, coats, jackets and blouses. Here below you will find images that show this modern and spunky trend.
Relaxed and Polished Elegance. Christopher Kane was inspired by Boris Karloff (Frankenstein) in his spring-summer collection, « it was the nuts and bolts of Frankenstein» said designer. As you can see below, the nuts and bolts replaced fastenings on dresses and were re-fashioned in bows. Models appeared in pretty pink day dresses, cocktail dresses, refreshing quilted rose jackets and other pretty summer garments. Love that clever mix of textures and fabrics.
First One. Christopher Kane showcases his first pre-fall collection of women’s transeasonal clothing. It’s smart with a creepy old Hollywood vibe. Models appear in long skirts in gray floral print, ensembles with weird splash of fluoro, bustier dresses in a jaguar-printed goatskin, crystal necklaces. Love the combinations of tulle and velvet. It looks irresistible and glamour.
Do Prints Again. Christopher Kane presented his new women’s resort collection of women’s beautiful wear. For the next pre-spring season Christopher used lots of prints and warm colors. Model appeared in dresses printed with abstract blue/gray roses, fabulous little crepe dresses, vintage inspired biker jackets, long dresses made of floor-length accordion-pleated crepe and fluffy mohair sweaters.
Powerful and Dark. Christopher Kane was inspired by dark mood in his Autumn-Winter womens ready to wear collection. Show started with pinstripe dresses in black and white, as show continued models appeared in gloomy color palette, like burgundy, plum and royal blue. I like this collection's leopard spots, eastern inspired prints and innovative fabrics. Concerning outerwear, I like knee-length coats, furry jackets and those cozy heavy knitted sweaters.
Flower Inspiration. Wow, the styling of the latest February/March issue of Wonderland Magazine is incredible! Just take a look at this cute and chic fashion model Anouk De Heer, she's so lovely, ladylike and elegant. She dons ensembles from the likes of Valentino, Miu Miu, Louis Vuitton, Christopher Kane and other. It looks retro style to me and these decorative flowers and column tables look amazing.
