Recently I had chance to speak with Emergency Tiara who is a NYC-based retro-pop artist with great voice and music style. I like her unique talent, which allows her to make such trendy songs. She recently released her debut EP Until The Stroke of Midnight (which can be found @ soundcloud). In addition, Emergency Tiara is a real fashionista, who has her own unique style, which can be found on her personal blog: The Emergency Tiara Diaries. Anyway, let's have a look at my interview with this great person.
Tell us about your name. Why Emergency Tiara?
I believe any woman at any age sometimes deserves a princess moment and a cute little Tiara comes in handy in those emergency situations.
How would you describe your music style?
Quirky retro pop.
When did you know you wanted to be a singer? How did you get into music industry?
I have been singing since I started to talk and being a singer has always been my dream! And Berklee College of Music might have played the biggest part for me to get into music industry. :)
What inspires you the most? Where do you go for inspiration?
Many of my song ideas and melody lines come to me when I am taking shower and singing like no one's business. :) I also love to read and getting into the character of stories will also bring me lots of inspiration.
Describe your working day? How it starts? What's the best time to get up? What's your breakfast?
First, I feed my animals and clean their toilettes, and then I make juice with cabbage, kale, wheat grass, carrots, beets, orange, apple and pineapple. And it depends on a day but usually, checking emails and social media, sit in front of my keyboard, work on my voice, take pilates classes, and read a bit. There usually are meetings in between those activities then I watch movies almost every night. :)
How active is your lifestyle?
I don't think my life is super active, but it might look so because there's not many routines, so it looks crazy and all over the place.
What does fashion means to you?
A drape of confidence and candy to my soul.
How would you describe your personal style?
I really like retro look of the 1920's, 1960's and 1970's. so I am usually time traveling to those eras. :)
Can you describe your ideal everyday outfit?
Flats!!! But cute ones with a skirt or dress. :)
I am now working on a full album to be released next year, hopefully! Please stay tuned! ;)
