Inspired by Geometries. This year San Francisco Decorator Showcase will feature interior designer Candace Barnes dazzling entryway and staircase. The following interior was inspired by geometry and the written word. Designer honors the home's original architect for her use of geometry and hand-drawn architecture sketches in a graphic entryway design. Candace created a tribute to a powerful female design figure- Julia Morgan.
The Grand Entry features strong lines, mathematic proportions, bold geometric shapes that set the tone for the house. This interior highlights signature furnishings from the designer's line- Candace Barnes Now Custom Furniture. You are going to see bronze pyramid table and geometric ottomans. Designer has chosen a graphic Motherwell-inspired painting by Myke Reilly. This large canvas becomes the focal point of the room.
Collaborating with artist Shannon Kaye, candace crafted stylized calligraphy panels as an ode to the lost art of handwriting and libraries. Drawn on tracing paper, the panels include hidden quotes from Julia and resemble pages that have been torn from books and then given prominence on the stairwell panels.
